Luetje Lab

The Luetje Lab was in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami School of Medicine from 1991 until 2018.  Lab research interests were within the general area of receptor structure and function, with a particular emphasis on ligand recognition.  The most recent focus was the olfactory receptors of disease vector mosquitoes.  The lab had also studied the olfactory receptors of mammals and the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors of the mammalian nervous system.  The lab used a variety of techniques including conventional mutagenesis, substituted cysteine accessibility mutagenesis, functional assay by robotic electrophysiology, computational receptor modeling and virtual ligand docking.

The Luetje Lab closed on May 31, 2018.
